1)      Dicussed what fracking is

2)      James found stuff about radio nucleides to trace flow

3)      Jennifer found stuff on hormones affected by fracking using PET

4)      Will ask prof Welch if theres a direction we should go into

5)      Discussed problems as PET is small scale, fracking is normally a larger scale project

6)      Questions: could we use PET to track radioactive stuff from drinking water affected by fracking – need long half life

7)      Discussed separating into half fracking research, half PETon friday. Fracking: what is fracking, actual process or consequences, PET: what is PET, comparison to other techniques, PET in fracking

8)      Birmingham uni: large PET scanner used for solids motion in fluidised beds

Questions for tomorrow with Welch:

·         Recommendations of journals

·         Can we only do samples? Scale of fracking vs scale of PET scanner
